For as long as I can remember I have always needed to make things. As a child, I would pick up pretty stones, wash them and polish them in a tumbling machine, bought on holiday in Cornwall. These treasured found objects would then be turned into simple pendants and key rings. This was the start of my fascination with all things sparkly. When I left school, however, art was seen as a hobby and not a career choice so I put my creative hat to one side and began a career in something sensible.
Several years later, I enrolled in a jewellery making course and immediately and totally fell in love with the tools, the process and endless possibilities that metal allows. So, when I was offered the chance to train in the workshop of a prestigious jeweller in London's Hatton Garden jewellery quarter, I couldn't have been more happy. Here, over several years, I learned the age old traditions and techniques of the master goldsmith.
Using these skills I am now designing and making the things that I love.
I hope you look at my jewellery with new eyes now that you know how it came to be!
